Fun Run and Fun Fair 2008
The 2008 Camp Fire Fun Run and Fun Fair was held March 29th at Emmons School in Mishawaka. This year's event was a great success!
We started the day by running laps out on the track to earn our pledges. The winners for most laps for the Starflight / Adventure groups were Hannah Deitchley, Abby Whitfield, and Bobbie Mammolenti, each with 14 laps. For the Discovery / Horizon group, Catherine Laskowski had the most laps, with 12. Catherine was also the winner for the most money raised for Camp Fire in Fun Run pledges, bringing in nearly $500.
Then we moved inside for the Fun Fair. We had many games for the kids (and adults, too!) to play, including a cake walk, the duck pond, Dance Dance Revolution, The Bozo Game, remote-control car bowling, and Plink-O. Plus we had Face-painting, jewelry made by our own Catherine Laskowski, a silent auction, and a Piggy Raffle.
We also had our annual Cake Decorating Contest. Some great cakes were entered this year! Looks Yummy!
First Place (Preston LaRoy, 1st Grade)
2nd Place (Chloe Deranek, 9th Grade), 3rd Place (Ani Johnson, 10th Grade)
Finally we had our 2x4 Car Race. Cars were judged for design, and then competed in a race. Best Design went to Catherine Laskowski (12th grade). Most Original went to Preston LaRoy (1st grade). Best of Show went to Robert Howard (3rd grade).
In the race event, Griffon Towns (2nd grade) took First Place, Chloe Deranek (9th grade) took Second, Quillon Towns (3rd grade) took Third, and Haig Johnson took Fourth.
